Judged by an independent panel of over 80 industry experts, the
UK Property Awards recognise excellence in design, quality of workmanship,
innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability
The winning project, which included design and installation, was conceptualised by our Senior Designer, Charley Nichols, who now looks forward to competing against the best property professionals to be recognised at national level.
Set in a pretty, Grade II listed property, the project comprised of designing a cool, contemporary kitchen and utility room that would sit harmoniously within such an old property. The brief was also to create a tranquil space that would satisfy 3 requirements:
- A stylish kitchen that was also suitable for professional cooking demos, with multiple appliances and good storage space essential.
-A relaxing place to socialise with family and friends.
-A comfortable place to work from home.
In addition, working within the health
industry meant the client’s focus was on well-being and how to create a calm
yet highly functional space. Looking
back at the project, Charley identified several elements that she feels really
elevated the project:
-Using a simple, warm colour palette
-Differentiating areas through use of diverse textures
-Use of sustainable materials
-Creating a connection to the outside via a large skylight and bi-fold doors
The result was a simply stunning kitchen that delighted the client and wowed the judges. Danny Wyer, our Managing Director, was delighted the project won such a prestigious award and commented ‘As a business we pride ourselves on our design team’s ability to deliver a highly personalised service, while at the same time the strong partnerships we have with our suppliers means we’re able to create a unique offer that simply isn’t available elsewhere.’
We enjoyed working with Charley to develop and finalise the design of our kitchen and are delighted with the finished article. Charley is creative and professional in approach and has a good eye for detail. A pleasure to deal with and if we ever did another kitchen she would be our first port of call.
As for Charley, she was absolutely thrilled, commenting ‘It was a such a pleasure to bring this project to life with the client and of course I’m always delighted to receive positive feedback, but having this recognition from the industry is an honour.‘
